Foster Home "Laura Perna"

Dieu Merci is a testament to how love and solidarity can transform a person’s life. Raised as an orphan in the Pediatrics of Kimbondo, on the outskirts of Kinshasa, in the Democratic Republic of Congo, Dieu Merci had to face immense challenges. Thanks to the help of AGAPE volunteers, he was able to come to Italy for a delicate surgical operation.

Grateful for the support he received, Dieu Merci chose to give back that kindness: he founded a foster home dedicated to Laura Perna, affectionately known by the local children as Maman Koko, the founder of the Pediatrics of Kimbondo and a symbol of hope. for many.

The center has become part of AGAPE’s network in Kinshasa, a network of small foster homes that share common goals and values, truly putting the children at the heart of their mission. However, the economic situation in the Congo is worsening, and many local supporters are no longer able to provide their assistance to the facility.

As a result, the center now urgently needs support to face the future with dignity and stability.
