The project was created with the idea of training young people in entrepreneurship and encouraging them to come up with business ideas that can improve the lives of people in their communities.

How the project was born

The country’s economic growth is not directly proportional to employment growth: in recent years, the number of graduates has increased significantly, as has the number of unemployed people. It is estimated that about 40% of young people in urban areas are unemployed, a percentage that rises in more peripheral areas and rural regions. For this reason, we have chosen the province of Gaza, specifically the city of Xai-Xai, which is located 3 hours by car from Maputo. In the provinces, young people have fewer opportunities for growth and stimulation compared to large cities, and even organizations operate in a less intense and continuous manner.

Project Phases

 The project consists of 4 training sessions, at the end of each of which the participants have a few weeks to present their project. Only the most motivated and deserving will advance to the next training session. The final training will involve the 10 participants with the most innovative and well-developed ideas, and only 5 will receive our support for one year to help them secure funding.

PROJECT DESIGN

Thinking outside the box: this training aims to understand how to analyze the context in which one lives and how to seize local opportunities to create innovative business ideas.

BUSINESS COMMUNICATION

Developing the identity of our business by visually conveying the values and characteristics that make it unique, understanding who our audiences are, and how to communicate with each of them.

MARKETING

 Strategic planning and the 4Ps of Marketing: Product, Price, Place, Promotion. How to choose the characteristics of our business to reach the right customers with the right communication.

BUSINESS PLAN

 Finalizing the Business Plan by combining what has been learned in the previous training sessions (business idea, identity, target audience, and product features) and building the financial plan.

ORIENTATION

 Developing an engaging and effective presentation, along with one year of support in presenting it to banks and potential investors to launch the startup.

The impact

The project aims to inspire young people with the awareness that they can change their future by thinking outside the box: even those who are unable to attend all the training sessions participate in the first and most important one, where they learn how to analyze the context and the problems faced by communities daily. From this foundation, they learn to develop new, truly revolutionary ideas and activities, and to seize the opportunities present in their local area.
