Ozone therapy

Ozone therapy is a medical practice that involves using ozone, a form of oxygen, to treat various conditions. 

The gas is administered to the patient primarily to relieve pain and inflammation, improve blood circulation, stimulate the immune system, and accelerate tissue healing.

How the project was born

We have purchased a specific machine for ozone therapy, aimed at treating ulcers. These ulcers are primarily caused by sickle cell disease (drepanocytosis) and Buruli ulcer. Our machine is made available free of charge for a period of 30 consecutive days to any healthcare facility that requests it in the Mont Ngafula area, in the D.R. Congo. As with any other therapy, there are risks and contraindications, so it is important that it is administered only by experienced and qualified professionals.

THE CONTEXT

Ozone therapy is the best treatment for Buruli ulcers, a skin ulcer commonly found in cases of poor hygiene and poverty, causing severe suffering. It develops in environments where clean water is not available. In the poorest neighborhoods of Kinshasa, cases are very frequent.
