The impact

Bringing drinking water to this context means not only providing a primary resource but also combating the recurring diseases caused by the use of dirty and polluted water, which especially affects children. Having water available throughout the year also enables the development of agricultural activities that go beyond mere subsistence, creating real opportunities that will improve the quality of life for the village families.

Sustainability

After the first well was built to immediately provide drinking water to the population, a second well was constructed on communal land, complete with a cistern and a pumping system powered by solar panels.

This facility will enable agricultural activities that go beyond mere subsistence, ensuring continuous cultivation throughout the year. Simple and robust pumping, storage, and distribution systems were chosen to prevent malfunctions or the need for frequent maintenance, guaranteeing uninterrupted operation.

The entire project will be overseen by our on-site representative, and, as with the first well, the community will ensure its upkeep, proper use, and thus the long-term sustainability of what has been achieved. The water project has been complemented by other small initiatives, supported by AGAPE as contributions to local efforts.

A mill for grinding cereals has been built, with the community constructing the small building that houses it. A chicken coop has been completed, and a pigsty is currently under construction.

Sustainability is ensured by the fact that these are community-led projects, with AGAPE providing support.

TO COMPLETE THE PROJECT, WE NEED TO RAISE €5,000
